Halloween Skincare Routine

1 min

Akhila Jerripothula

We share the perfect Halloween skincare routine to protect your skin from pore-clogging special effects makeup that can be really heavy on the skin.

October is here, and with that comes the beginning of holiday season in the US-- Halloween! This holiday season is very different from the ones before, but that doesn't mean that we can’t celebrate from home with fun makeup looks, or wacky costumes. Heavy costume and special effects makeup can be really heavy on the skin and clogging to your pores. Because of this, it is important to keep a thorough skincare routine to remove all of our costume once it's over!

Makeup Removal Routine

Skincare for removing heavy Halloween makeup and face paint may need an extra step or two, but it shouldn't be too different from what you should be doing on the daily. You must remember to double cleanse, starting with an oil cleanser to break down the oils in your makeup. Use something like WOW Skin Science Castor Oil by rub the castor oil into your skin, concentrating on stubborn makeup like mascara and lip color. Rinse with water before moving onto the next step!

Next, use a separate soap cleanser to help bind to the dirty oil to best remove every last bit of gunk on your face. A great facial cleanser for this would be the WOW Skin Science Apple Cider Vinegar Face Wash W/ Brush. It's packed with skin-loving ingredients and a soft-silicone brush head to gently exfoliate your pores.

Afterwards, use a toner to remove the last traces of makeup, and balance your skin’s pH levels. Use WOW Skin Science 10-In-1 Apple Cider Vinegar Mist Tonic for its multitasking ingredients. You can also use it on-the-go to refresh your skin!

Next, it's time to treat with serums and seal in moisture. While removing all the dirt and gunk from your face, you are also removing the natural oils from your face. This imbalance can signal to your skin to produce more oil to compensate, so it's best to substitute with hydration. We love using hyaluronic acid to quench dehydrated skin! You can also treat your skin by adding a drop of essential oil to your moisturizer for added benefits to your skin. Soothing essential oils like bergamot or eucalyptus are really beneficial to remedy any inflamed or irritated skin. Finish and seal in your skincare with a moisturizer or oil!

After the halloween fun (and lots of candy eating), taking extra good care of your skincare is key for your skin health. That added sugar can result in breakouts, so sticking to a thorough regimen will help keep your skin clear and glowing! Many people say that doing these kinds of thorough skincare routines could help get bouncier, younger and more supple looking skin-- so make sure to not just use a makeup wipe…

Happy Halloween, and we can’t wait to see what kind of looks you end up doing!
